Panel: Life in a Connected World

Monday, April 8th at 2:45 PM ET

Jeremy will be speaking on the Life in a Connected World panel, where he will join Emily Frye, Director of Cyber Integration at MITRE Corporation, and panel moderator Rick Grinnell, Founder & Managing Partner at Glasswing Ventures.

The trio will discuss the security implications that IoT has on our everyday lives. As the number of connected devices worldwide is predicted to exceed 20 billion this year, cybersecurity has been a growing topic of interest, and rightfully so: In their Internet Security Threat Report, Semantic reported a 600% increase in IoT attacks from 2016 to 2017. The panel discussion will dive into how IoT devices are widening the attack surface of smart cities and smart homes, as well as address what options we have to mitigate the cybersecurity risks that are inherent in IoT.

As IoT security is at the forefront of the Minim platform, Jeremy will also be sharing some further insights on our findings as they relate to certain device behaviors and vulnerabilities detected in the connected home.
